Understand the Sky
(Alyson Greenfield)
I don't really understand the sky. Maybe I would if I could only fly. 'Cause I don't really understand the sky. No, I don't really understand the sky. Get it into to your head that I live in a bubble globe. Get it into your head that I am no trouble, no. Get it into your head that I am an adventurer. Get it into your head. 'Cause I think I touch you like the sky touches the ocean. From far away they look like they are connected, but up close I know I'd have to keep on swimming to keep keep swimming to try and touch the sky.
I look up to the sky, make a point like a pinpoint, so I can feel like I have an axis. Something to rotate around, feel no sense of parataxis. I know I can't touch what I can see, but I'm just trying to understand all the bigness of, the expanse of the sky. 'Cause I know one day I'll wake up in the morning and mourning doves will fly out of my eyes. And maybe then I'll understand the sky. Yes, maybe then I'll understand the sky. But if not I'll just keep on swimming, I'll keep keep swimming, I'll keep on swimming. I'll keep keep swimming the sky.
