Media Decay Review - July 6, 2011

The second review of "Rock Out With Your Glockenspiel Out" comes form Media Decay who says, "Overall this album is one you need to own. Alyson Greenfield has compiled a great collection of covers and then done them masterfully in her own style combining emotion and fun. Put this on at a party and you’ll get just as great a reaction as if you put on the real songs, if not better." Check out the whole track-by-track review here: http://www.mediadecay.com/album_review/rock-out-with-your-glockenspiel-out/

Mercury Lounge Review - May 19, 2011

Music Crush Girl wrote a fantastic review of my show at Mercury Lounge Monday Night! She says: "A cross between Tracy Chapman and Chelsea Handler – she is irreverent and whimsical with a resplendent voice and mad, mad songwriting skills. Is she a folk artist? A rapper? A cabaret muse? She’s all that and more. Difficult to pin down, mesmerizing to watch."

Mercury Lounge Rec - May 15, 2011

What the Musk wrote a great recommendation on why they think you should come check me out at the Mercury Lounge. They say, "a very talented multi-instrumentalist who rocks the glockenspiel, percussion, guitar and haunting vocals that leaves a lasting impression. Kind of like a TuNe-yArDs meets Enya meets Beach House in a supremely listenable package. This is some breakthrough sunrise overcoming adversity shit. Check it out."

"It’s no secret I love covers and it’s no secret I love Alyson Greenfield. I think she is one of the most talented people I’ve ever known. She writes great originals and does great covers. This cover is from an EP coming out this summer called Rock Out With Your Glockenspiel Out which features covers by such artists as LL Cool J and Coolio. This particular cover of Gangsta’s Paradise is done on a glockenspiel. Yes, that’s right, a glockenspiel. Check it out!"

SXSW Recap - March 20, 2011

I had an amazing time at SXSW this year playing shows, seeing shows, reconnecting with old friends, and making new ones! I played on a stone stage at the beautiful Paper Garden/Lovely Hearts Club Showcase alongside kickin' Seattle band Tea Cozies; rocked out with beatboxers named Musik and Magic at the TJO Presents/ Beyond Race/ Inherent Artists Showcase; sang Beatles songs with The Eggmen; drummed on a hotel table and a street sign during my press video performances; saw NY friends Hank & Cupcakes, Charlene Kaye, Annie Fitzgerald, Fifth Nation, and The Wicked Tomorrow rock Austin; and saw impressive performances by TV On The Radio, Linda Perry, Bob Schneider, Autobody, and Jack Littman. The weather was beautiful and the music and energy were everywhere! Pictures and videos from my performances during SXSW coming soon!
